Jim Allister’s chances.

Prior to the current European Election campaign, Jim Allister was given a slim chance of obtaining 40,000 votes under his Traditional Unionist Voice banner.

Since then, Allister has proven himself to be a capable campaigner. A surprisingly professional campaign has been run in Northern Ireland, and there is now talk of Allister obtaining in excess of 60,000 votes. If this happened, the TUV would definetly be en route to taking seats in Stormont.

Even more unexpectedly, there is still a chance, albeit small, that Allister could be returned to Brussels as an MEP at the expense of the Ulster Unionists. That really would be welcome. Allister is the most hard-working and principled Unionist that there is.
